The authors concluded that tea’s rich polyphenol content, particularly catechins, plays a central role in its protective effects.

According to the authors, regular tea consumption is associated with a lower risk of cardiovascular disease. Green tea, in particular, appears to help reduce blood pressure, improve cholesterol profiles, and protect blood vessels from oxidative damage.
